What Maher PDF is, and who it's for
Maher PDF is a collection of 24 browser-based tools for the PDF jobs that come up every week: combining documents for a submission, shrinking a scan so it can be emailed, turning a PDF into an editable Word or Excel file, adding a password, signing a form, or photographing paperwork into a single PDF.
It was started by Maher, a quality-control inspector in the UAE construction and oil and gas sector who handles reports, certificates, and drawings daily and wanted fast tools that didn't require uploading files. Read the full story.
Good to know before you start. Because everything runs on your device, very large files can be slow on older phones. Compress PDF works by turning pages into images, so the result isn't searchable. Some conversions, such as PowerPoint to PDF, are simplified. Each tool page explains exactly what to expect.
The tools need an internet connection the first time they load. After that your browser keeps a copy and they work offline. OCR for scanned pages needs a connection the first time it's used.
Frequently asked questions
Is Maher PDF free?
Yes. All 24 tools are free to use with no account. The site is supported by advertising and optional donations.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tools run inside your browser tab, so your files are processed on your device. The optional OCR feature downloads its recognition engine (not your file) the first time you use it.
Does it work on Android and iPhone?
Yes. Maher PDF works in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, and Samsung Internet on phones, tablets, and computers.
Do I need to install anything?
No. If you'd like quick access, add Maher PDF to your home screen from your browser's menu and it opens like an app.
